First Day of Demolition

Hubby's cousin Scott said we could save some money on our kitchen remodel by doing the demo ourselves.   Hubby's eyes lit up like Christmas trees!  And when Jamie found out, she was all in!!!

Thankfully the plaster ceiling has already been covered with those cardboard-type material tiles.  The strapping is still there and hopefully can be used for the sheet rock.

Jamie is very excited to get the first ceiling tile down!

Behind the paneling was quite the interesting wallpaper and some paneling that was supposed to look like tile.

Hubby bagging up the ceiling tiles.....most of the debris will be burned in our fire pit.

My initial thought was to find other things to do and just stay out of the way. But there's something very exciting about ripping apart walls and smashing down cabinets!

The other wallpaper underneath the flowered wallpaper.

Our "problem" corner.  There are some thing pipes behind that board and we needed the board to come down.  I think there might have been a bit of swearing happening there.  Then Hubby and Jamie teamed up to overcome that bastard!!!

Our new look for the next several weeks.
