Rockport

Such a beautiful, sunshiny spring day - who could resist getting out there and enjoying it?  After working in the morning  while Hubby mowed the yard for the first time this season, we took off for Rockport.

Cute gazebo at the end of the beach but you couldn't get to it.

Classic New England

Iconic "Bear Skin Notch" is full of little shops.

Lots of beautiful scenery

There's a long stretch of rocks on the end you can walk on.

I love the boats even when they're docked.

So Happy to be out in the sunshine!

Flowers everywhere!

Anyone know what these next several flowers are?  They're so pretty!

A beautiful day - and we saw my brother, sister-in-law and niece w while we were there!  Everyone had the same great idea!

Grandkids Day!

For the first time ever, Hubby and I got to take all four of our grandchildren out for the day.  We took them to Charmingfare Farm in Candia, NH.

Noah loved feeding the sheep.  Later on, he was over-run by a herd of goats who stole his entire bag of feed!   He was very calm about the whole thing, but was happy when I rescued him.

Emily liked feeding the baby sheep.

We all thought it was funny that the baby goats could escape the pen.  But it was much easier to feed them from the other side of the fence.

ALMOST got a good picture of the whole group!  Noah, Emily, Elsie and Audrey.

Of course, we chose to go on the wagon ride just as it started to rain, and we were stuck sitting out in the rain for the duration of the ride.  We took refuge in the goat barn, where Memere and Audrey chilled out with a little snack.  It only rained for that ten minutes that we were on the wagon ride.

Later on, we found a picnic area with a canopy over it so we could sit at a dry table for lunch.  We feasted on PB and J sandwiches, ham and cheese sandwiches, fruit, little bags of chips and homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Elsie be-bopping down the road.

My granddaughters hanging out while Noah goes on the pony ride.   Emily and Noah played rock-paper-scissors to see who would go first.  Noah won - and Elsie was so excited for a turn that Emily graciously let her go next.

Noah really enjoyed the ride on the pony.

Elsie's turn.

Emily and Noah patiently waiting.

Elsie got about halfway around and then announced "I'm done" so Pepere had to carry her back.

Emily enjoyed her ride too.

They all amused themselves by walking backwards.

Audrey laughing and singing while waiting for the hay ride.

Emily is up to something!

I think I know what it is!

The scarecrow

Elsie throws a little more straw on him.

Pepere knows who the perpetrators are!

Time to relax after all that hard work.

The second time around, the kids sat up near the driver and asked a million questions.   Pepere said, "Phew!"

And Audrey and Memere had a little fun with the straw themselves.

There was a random tractor sitting in the middle of one of the paths so we let the kids climb on it.

Finally, we played on the "playground" which was basically a little pirate ship.

Noah and Emily created a whole scenario involving them being pirates.

Elsie was adorable, trying to get Audrey to join in the fun.

Somehow, the scary pirate story turned into a dance party!

Back to the goats..............

"Who should get my handful of feed?"

The baby goats, of course!

Pepere and his youngest girl.

And with his two little girls.

Finally time to go home......and all good friends.
