Montmorency Falls and Sainte Anne de Beaupre

We started out our day at a nice little sidewalk cafe that served an amazing breakfast!  (I can't remember the name of it!)  Such a pleasure to eat outside in the beautiful morning sunshine.

And naturally, Hubby researched the addresses for a couple of used record stores.  He picked up a couple things at Musique Chez Sonny.

Then we hopped in the car to go visit Montmorency Falls just north of Quebec City.

Somehow, we figured out how to drive to the top, where you can access the falls.

If we'd parked at the bottom, we could have walked up these stairs.  We decided it would be more fun to walk down the stairs and then take the gondola back up.

The view from partway up.  There is a suspension bridge that goes across the falls at the top.

It's a long way down.  They claim that these falls are higher than the US Niagara Falls.

On the suspension bridge.  Not scary at all!

And a beautiful view

When you get to the top, you walk around the other side on a nice path to get to the stairs leading down.

At the bottom, we got close enough to be sprayed by the falls.

At this point, the dark clouds had moved in, and we were getting wet with rain as well as mist from the falls!

Thank goodness for the gondola ride back to the top!

After that, we drove a little further north to the Shrine to Sainte Anne de Beaupre.   When I told my Dad we were going to Quebec City, this is the first place he insisted we should go see.

The famous display of crutches, from people who were supposedly cured at the shrine.

On the return, we couldn't seem to get on the right road back to our hotel.....despite getting back on the highway and trying it a second time!

It's right there!!  But how do we get there from here??

We capped off our evening with another fine meal in Old Quebec City.  It was fun to try different restaurants.   This time, we went with an Irish pub-type place and sat inside because of the unsettled weather.  Not as much fun, and not as tasty, as the previous night.......but guess where we went for dessert?
